The
West of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park runs from
Tarbet on Loch Lomond to Glenbranter and Loch Ecke in the Argyll
Forest Park. This area of the Park is offset from the rest of
the park and unlike the rest does not have a road which
circumnavigates the area.
There
are very interesting walks, hills and lochs here,
particularly around Glenbranter and Loch Ecke. Strachur on
Loch Fyne, just outside the boundary is the largest village
in the area and supplies may be bought at its shops. However
just to the south west of the boundary lies Dunoon, a large
town on the river Clyde.
A southern access route
brings visitors via the clyde ferry from Gourock to Dunoon.
