The surface are of Loch Lomond is huge, in fact it has the largest surface area of any fresh water loch in Britain. The loch provides good fishing for salmon, sea trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, perch, chub pike roach and pike to name the most popular species which you can fish.

There have been a number of fatalities on the loch over the years, please make sure that if you are out on the loch, you take normal precautions such as the wearing of life jackets or buoyancy aids. The loch can become quite wild if the wind gets up.

There is also fishing on the River Leven, a very short river, from which water flows from the loch to the river Clyde.
